I started to paint in oils!  My friend Alan Jones, Donald and Alex have been
encouraging me to try this particular medium.  The first painting was for
Alex, and naturally he wanted to have something superhero!   Todd
McFarlan is a comic God and was the choice for Spawn.  Next up was a
recreation of an Alex Ross Green Lantern.  Click on the thumbnails to see
the images a bit bigger.  Check back to see what's next!
Abstracts?
Yep, been having fun with some abstract work.  For my Christmas present for 2010, I asked Donald and
Alexander to paint with me.  It's rare that they get a chance to work along side me and work the paints.  But they
were willing to go along, and we had one heck of a day.  I put a black base coat down on 3 slender paintings,
and then stood back and watched them work.  I had no idea how much joy it would bring me, but it sure did!
The fun had to finally stop when we ran out of canvas at the house!
But I have canvas everywhere, and I've continued to play at the shop too.  Some of these are just scribbles,
some came out pretty cool.

Emotionally, they are very different than the motorcycle paintings.  There's been days of darkness and gloom,
and they have made for fantastic imagery.  There have been days of joy and happiness, and I think you will be
able to tell the difference!  Enjoy.
More acrylics!  I'm not sure where to put these on the site.  When this section gets
too full, I'll make them their own page, but for now, it's a good place to keep them!
"Pride, Confidence, and Resilience" is the name of this 3 stage painting.  It was a
commission for the Animal Hospital of Cotati.  It's 8 feet long and 4 feet wide.  One more
canvas, and it wouldn't have fit in my kitchen!  The inspiration was Armstrong Woods.  If
you get a chance to walk the trails, see if you can find my inspiration point!  I thought the
colombine flowers would make for a great way to catch your eye.
